So she goes, not quietly

This article was written after a real tragedy which became a topic at that time last semester. I always have something to talk about when such things happen. It should have been posted last year, but the original copy was collected by my teacher who had no intention to give it back to me……OMG……
You may feel acquainted with this title; yes, it’s taken from a famous poet from XuZhimo

The news came that a girl who lived in Block 6 had committed suicide by jumping off from the top the building. With smiles, my friend told me about it. I felt uneasy and I thought he was kidding me for I had never connected my mind with death.
The next day, the campus was filled with smell of this news which had mysteriously became a kind of starter when greeting. One would ask like this:
“Have you ever heard……?”
The other, astonished by the words, faltered for a while and replied:
“It’s scaring. Is that true?”
“Yes, it’s true!”

Following conversation would be filled with sympathy.
“It’s horrible that we are in the same college. But why?”
They came to another interesting problem.
“Maybe she was deserted by her boy friend.”
“Well, that’s too ordinary a story.”
“Ordinary” I didn’t understand why he put it “ordinary”.
“Maybe she sensed she would be unable to find a good job in the future!”
They went on their analysis like two psychologists.

Dormitory in our campus

People analyze how soon some comets will visit the earth again, what will happen if the icebergs of the South Pole melt, when China will stand in the line of developed country. But they analyzed why that girl jumped from her building.
Language is magical. It puts the infinite to an end by two words – “She died.” After these two cold words, we are surprised , terrified, and sympathetic; We talk or chat, ponder and forget about it.
Tomorrow will be the third day since the tragedy. Will they still remember it?
So she goes, not quietly.
