This is my original copy of the speach contest held today in our shcool, which I have practiced for two days on the balcony facing lots of students in the dormitory of the oppsite side.
The first role of contest consists of three sections: Prepared Speach for 3 mins; Impromptu Speach for 1.5 mins; Questions from adjudicators. No sooner did I begin trembling than I walked onto the stage. Owing to my devoted efforts, I managed to perform well in the first and the last section , but for the second section, I was assigned to talk about the topic: Some people search for happiness, and some people create happiness, which I failed to grasp the main idea of the topic and wandered around……On the hole, I have the confidence to excel in the first role.
Facing this audience on the stage, I have the exciting feeling of taking part in this contest and I’m very grateful that I’ve been given this opportunity to have a talk with you, a controversial talk about love affairs of us college students.
For years, parents have been pestering us not to be trapped in love too early – a kind of pledge required to be bear in mind for every boy and girl. On entering the college, we are still being told by supervisors about the cliché ‘Puppy love is not good for your future.’ Why, we may wonder, do they stick the label ‘puppy love’ on us, even though we are already grown-ups, who are entitled to enjoy the happiness and sadness of this world? Who, on earth, should take charge of our own love?

The answer is YOU. While criticizing the reckless of our falling in love, they might neglect the inevitable factors accounting for your behaviors, say, the physiological maturity, the pent up pressure during senior high school years, the pursuit for freedom and influence of environment. We can’t forbid love much as we can’t prevent a person from taking in fresh air.
